The Alexandra-Clyde Walk

Hey guys!

This last week in New Zealand has been SO BUSY! Class work has been getting more and more difficult and involved. I have been busy at school until about 6pm every night working. I don’t mind at all because staying late has made the days go by so much smoother. This is something that I am learning a LOT about here. I consider myself a prepared  and organized person usually, but this is taking it up a notch. I love it!! Having everything ready to go before I leave for the night makes the next day fly by so quick! I’ll write a blog entry about everything I’m learning at school soon!

This busy week called for a relaxing weekend! We haven’t had one of those since we’ve been in New Zealand. On Saturday we explored our town of Alexandra a lot. We walked all around. We got coffee, ran some errands, shopped a little bit and we got to talk a lot! It was a really nice day!

On Sunday went on a really nice long walk! We walked to a town called Clyde which is about 12.8km away. (That’s about 7.5 miles). It was a beautiful walk! We walked there one a trail called the “River Trek.” Naturally I have a lot of pictures. :)

The start of the walk!!

Found a bathtub, had to dance a bit!

Very cool trees all along the path!

GORGEOUS

We made it the 7.5 miles to Clyde!

On the way back!

This cute little kiddo and her pet goat, Ruby!

While we were in Clyde, we got some yummy lunch and we were able to see the arts festival they have there. We couldn’t have gone there on a better day!

We walked home along the rail trail! It’s a bike track that goes through all of Central Otaga. It is a really famous New Zealand bike path and a ton of people bike it every day! It was great to get to walk it and see other people doing similar things! We got a good workout for the day and we got to meet some great people.

All in all, this was a really fantastic weekend. It was a little low key but I think that was something we all needed. We recharged our batteries and got ready for another busy busy week! I love the city we’re living in:)

Talk to you later guys! :)
